Amethyst is a stone of the mind. The name derives from the Ancient Greek word meaning “not intoxicated” and was said to prevent against drunkenness. It has long been said to promote sobriety – both in the literal sense of preventing drunkenness, and in the sense of developing an ability to think more clearly and not be clouded with the emotion of any specific sort. It promotes calmness and clarity while helping the wearer get in touch with intuition and feelings.
